Yep, apparently it's been that long since my last journal entry. It seems like college life seriously stifles my creativity. But what can you do. I just finished the first thing I've worked on in a while, and it's posted ("Within.") Is it just me or is deviantart dead? It seems so different from how I remember it.

Well, as far as a life update goes, I'm now a junior and I'm working on my bachelor's in communication studies (I know, it seems like I've changed my mind a thousand times.) Once again, my life has done some twisting and turning and my world view has changed drastically because of my new understanding. Hopefully this will move my art in a new direction. I need an outlet again.

I also need to either revamp this entire page or move to a new one... my old stuff just doesn't represent me now. I've been putting tons of stuff in storage, and I'll probably continue to until this page is completely different. I used to be interested in things like commercial photography, and advertising, and the things that go hand in hand with that world (for example, retouching and an unhealthy obsession with superficiality) and I could see myself going in that direction for a career... and now that thought disgusts me. No way could I now allow myself to have my artistic abilities controlled and exploited by the domineering hegemony of corporate hate and greed. I guess studying the media opens your eyes in that respect. The media (generally) is not your friend. They want your money. That is all. They couldn't care less about your happiness. Remember that next time you turn on a box.

And so, it's time for a new chapter in my art.
